numberland: Two cats on manual wheelchair, looking up a the camera (Default)
So, I have made the leap from LJ to Dreamwidth for many, many reasons, right now that I've been putting it off and I'm trying to do stuff that will be put off.

If you are on DW please subscribe/grant access etc.

For the moment I'm having commenting only of DW simply because I like comments in one place, comment on a open post if you can see stuff from LJ but not on your DW account, I will probably just not know about said account.

Things are not all settled yet, I need to do some set up of filters and such like but hopefully this will make me less likely to procrastinate about posting.

My choice of which entries to number and count towards a total this month is somewhat arbitrary but I think this counts if nothing else for the achievement of getting it done.

Things wot have broken recently:

Washing Machine, including burnination of electronics
Wireless Access Point
The Media Server
The Media Server (Very, very loud, so not technically broken)
The Media Server (dead disc, so now no data hence no list of previously recorded programs and the computer is *still* too loud)
New Router (acting odd, now works, still don't know what went wrong)
A laptop
A tap
Macbook's connection to the world (related to router)
Macbook's ethernet port (simply doesn't grab onto cable, we think this is a break rather then intentional)
My wheelchair (nothing to stop it functioning but the head rest fell off without me noticing and a mudguard fell off)
My body (repeatedly, for completeness)
[personal profile] shortcipher's main computer (sound card)
[personal profile] shortcipher's Nexus One (bad blocks of memory)
My Nexus One (refusing to make calls randomly)

Things wot haven't broken:

The dishwasher
The microwave
The fridge/freezer
The shower
The computer in the conservatory
Things wot aren't big electronic devices
Things wot are lodger's

Umm. Some of these were fixable without money or lots of time, most weren't.

I am much less able to do physical things and massively busy, [personal profile] shortcipher is doing more looking after me (mostly cooking I cannot cook unassisted at the moment) and there are various things that need to happen to the house and garden. Some is because I need to start using a wheelchair in the house and get certain other things into it (space for storage for wheelchair and possibly better seating given my impairments) and organised better and I want to add lots of bulbs as they require less work.

It's not a huge amount of work but we are never going to be able to do it in a sensible timescale particularly getting bulbs into the ground in time (which might be possible to get gardener to do).

So anyone willing to lend a hand for a little while towards getting the house and garden more sorted would receive eternal gratitude/food/hot drinks/cuddles etc.

Also if anyone has a reclining arm chair they no longer want this could then be previously mentioned better seating.
